According to Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt (2019), a randomized control trial is considered level II evidence for my PICOT question. The article by Pope et al. (2016), is a case control, cross sectional design, which would be classified as level IV evidence (Melnyk, Fineout-Overholt, 2019)..
